Details of Mohamed Salah's contract with Liverpool

Details about Mohamed Salah's Liverpool contract

On Friday, Liverpool announced a new long-term contract for Mohamed Salah, making the Egyptian the highest-paid player in the club's history.

Salah has signed a contract extension with the club that will keep him at the club until 2025.

Liverpool made the shocking announcement on Friday, posting a video of Salah confirming the news with the words "Salah stays."

Salah's new contract has now been revealed, with The Times' Paul Joyce reporting that the Liverpool No.11 will earn more than £350,000 per week, more than any other player in the club's history.

Meanwhile, the Liverpool Echo reports that, while Salah's contract pays less than £400k per week, the terms are heavily incentivized and could pay him more based on player performance.

According to Chris Bascombe of The Telegraph, Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group, became increasingly confident that Salah would sign a new contract after his admission that he would rather see out his current contract than leaving the club this summer.

Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, had earlier in the day posted a cryptic laughing face emoji from his Twitter account, leading fans to believe that his client was closer to leaving Liverpool than ever.

However, Liverpool's official account responded to Abbas' tweet with a facepalm emoji before revealing Salah had signed a new contract.

Salah's new contract represents another boost for the club ahead of the new season, with the Reds set to resume pre-season training on Monday.
